Jesus in PA: two photos by Frog

Frog, a photographer in east-central Pennsylvania, sent us these photos back in 2002. A giant Polish man plays the role of our Lord and Saviour in an Easter celebration, proving once again just how strange the anthracite coal region is. - CL

True story, swear to God: In a strange coincidence, Jesus in the pictures happens to be my girlfriend's uncle and they're taken in the great town of Gordon.

Yes, That man is still doing it. That was the first year i was there. I missed him this year because I had the day off. I have shot that about 3 out of 5 Easters since at the N-I. Always a personal favortie of mine, though.

i would like to see that cross just try to hold up the polish-catholic jesus
